My name on the net is a rough translation to pali of my actual name and am an entheusiastic Layman of the practice!
hope to make many friends here and if not be of use at least recieve some help ;D

Greetings manapa, Lovely to meet you and lovely to have you on board. Where are you from in Scotland? I really like Edinburgh having gone there last year, visiting a friend. In fact, right now I've got on a Hibs training guernsy on, so I hope that doesn't put you off-side, so to speak! I've read (what I believe is) a full online version of Ajahn Chah's Dhamma talks and have found him to be an incredibly wise teacher, one of the ones responsible for helping me confirm that Theravada is the path for me. If there's anything we can do to help you settle in, just ask. Metta, Retro.

Well a cup of tea would do nicely! I am up Aberdeen a few hours by train north of Edinburgh! I'm not from Scotland myself rather the Isle of Man TT Races may be its more famous event, and if I understood you right it isn't that different from Guernsey
